Dark Souls III (All Versions) - Why does the game crash during summon w/ in-game menu open

It was brought to our attention that having the in-game menu open while being summoned (via White Soapstone) can cause the game to crash on all platforms/versions of Dark Souls III. This issue has been escalated to our internal partners for further investigation and is currently being looked into further (for future patches/updates). Please note that at this time there is no timeframe for a fix/solution to this.
In the meantime, we recommend that players not have any in-game menus open while being summoned to avoid this issue.
Additionally, for this and any other such bugs/glitches with Dark Souls III, please send those to firstname.lastname@example.org so our support staff can forward them to our internal teams for further investigation. Please provide as much detail in your description of the issue so that the dev teams will be able to reproduce the issue (any additional information regarding PC specs is greatly appreciated).
